”Connect" is a 9”x9” mixed media painting on watercolor paper. Inspired by the feeling of connection that is amplified when I meditate. I feel more connected to nature and my surroundings, to my mind, body and spirit. Leading to deeper gratitude and love.

I used acrylic paint, gouache, and wax pastels to layer together; this piece is part of a series of paintings inspired by meditation. The “Meditation” collection is a group of paintings I started as a visual reminder for myself. At the beginning of 2019, one of my intentions was to start practicing meditation regularly. Sitting still, breathing deeply, and going inward for a little bit of time each day.

I knew I had a higher probability of reaching my goal if I saw a beautiful visual reminder every day. I intend for these paintings to act as a symbol and reminder, to do something kind for oneself and to value the time we have to connect with our inner wisdom.
